The 15th annual Bicknell International Film Festival (BIFF) will be held at the historic Wayne Theatre in the beautiful southern Utah town of Bicknell on Friday and Saturday, July 23rd and 24th.
It's time to don your best "Out of this World" spaced-out attire and join your fellow BIFF fans in A Spaced Odyssey of "B"ad sci-fi films of galactic proportions, promising to be an experience that will take lightyears from which to recover!!
The cosmic lineup:
Friday Night Feature - The Giant Claw
The Giant Claw is a gigantic birdlike creature from an antimatter galaxy. It's "as big as a battleship" and terrorizing the world. As Mitch and his mathematician girlfriend work feverishly on a plan to defeat this invincible enemy, the winged, alien monster from 17,000,000 B.C. makes its way to the Empire State Building in New York City. Considered to be one of the worst movies of all time, this 1957 sci-fi film is the perfect alien flick to kick-off our B-movie weekend!
Saturday Matinee - Killer Klowns from Outer Space
Saturday afternoon is the perfect time for Killer Klowns from Outer Space to descend on Wayne County Utah. This 1988 B-movie comedy horror has gained cult status. An army of aliens who look like circus clowns has arrived in the sleepy town of Crescent Cove to capture and harvest people. As locals begin to investigate, they're faced with ray guns that envelop people in cotton candy, balloon animal hunting dogs, and killer shadow puppets.
Saturday Grand Finale - Plan 9 from Outer Space
A B-movie classic, Plan 9 from Outer Space features extraterrestrials seeking to stop humans from creating a doomsday weapon that could destroy the universe. The aliens resurrect the Earth's dead as zombies to create chaos.
Originally titled "Grave Robbers from Outer Space", this 1959 science fiction, horror film written and directed by Ed Wood is often referenced in pop culture. You'll leave the film quoting some of the worst dialog in film history.
